Royal deer in Richmond Park

Deer have run wild in London's Richmond Park and appear tolerant of visitors. Probably introduced as game for the royal hunts (bow and arrow), even today they are not immune to the shooter's aim. It is almost time for the annual cull, so some of these magnificent animals will be targetted by the marksmen.
I posted this article on Facebook and was surprised at the number of comments it drew regarding culling/killing/hunting and the ecological balance of nature.
Interesting.
